I bought this book after finishing The Three Lives of Cate Kay, since I had run out of English-language novels at the time. When I saw the title on the shelf at the bookstore, I immediately wanted to buy it and knew I’d be leaving with it: the myth on which the book is based is one that left a lasting impression on me when I was a young teenager.
